Cardiovascular Exercise!
Riding bikes is a fun aerobic or cardiovascular exercise, which involves large muscle groups such as the legs to help strengthen your heart and lungs. This kind of exercise has been shown to lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease. Bike riding, along with other forms of aerobic exercise, is also a great way to burn calories and raise your metabolic rate, which are both important for losing weight, especially when beach weather is right around the corner! Livestrong’s website says that a person who is 155 lbs burns about 563 calories bike riding outdoors for an hour at a moderate pace of 12-13.9 miles per hour and 281 calories for a leisurely hour-long ride going less than 10 miles an hour. So whether you are looking to shed a few pounds or for a way to add variety to your workout routine, bike riding is a great option!

One Response and Counting...
Great way to get out and exercise. The staff was so nice and helpful. Honestly sunshine or couldy, had a wonderful day. The bikes were very comfortable and the seats made a huge difference since we biked over 22 miles.
I highly suggest getting down and renting a bike from the rental stations in valley forge or kelly drive. With gas prices high, me and my wife looked to stay local and ended up enjoying our weekend, which surpassed all of our expectations. Due to the fact that we both travel it doesnt make sense for us to buy bikes, but at the prices offered, I think this will become a weekend event when we are both in town. Thank you valley forge bike rental for offering such a premium service with such personable employees.
